Introducing Gray Chiropractor, Dr. Michael Marcotte

Gray Chiropractor, Dr. Michael Marcotte"It wasn’t until I had a bad car accident and sought out the care of a chiropractor for my Pain that I realized what my true calling in life was going to be."

Dr. Michael Marcotte began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Maine at Farmington where he completed his four years of undergraduate studies as a Biology major before moving on to Life University in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. After Practicing in both Tennessee and Connecticut, Dr. Marcotte returned home to Maine so he could practice closer to his family. He is also an active participant in a number of associations such as the International Chiropractic Association, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, the Maine Chiropractic Association, and the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance.

Dr. Marcotte or "Dr. Mike" as many of his patients affectionately call him has been on a mission to spread the wellness lifestyle throughout his community since 2002. This includes not only adjusting his patients' spines, but also promoting nutritional supplementation, recommending exercises, teaching about proper rest and relaxation, and empowering individuals about the amazing ability for the body to heal itself naturally. Dr. Mike promotes a family style practice, where you feel at home. He specifically designs a care plan based on each patient's individual needs.

"I understand the fears, concerns, and apprehension that may accompany patients when they are starting care either for the first time, or in a new office with a new Doctor; I certainly had my own" smiles Dr. Mike "So we make it a point to explain all our procedures, and answer any and all questions that a patient may have prior to and through-out there care."

Dr. Mike currently resides in Pownal with his wife, Rebecca, and they welcomed their first child into their family in August 2008. He is enjoying his new role as Father and teacher for his little boy, and is revisiting life through a child's eyes.

Dr. Mike Asks some important questions of interest to Gray residents - Chiropractor Gray Dr. Mike Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
