Massage Therapy
When used in combination, chiropractic and massage therapy form a powerful healing approach that address your health needs on many levels. This combination can help to speed up the healing process. For those reasons, our office has three massage therapists available to attend to your soft-tissue needs. Meet our Massage Therapists
Kate Bradley-Baker - L.M.T.
I became a Licenced Massage Therapist in 2004 upon graduating from the New Hampshire Institute of Therapeutic Arts, a nationally accredited school of massage therapy. A wide spectrum of therapeutic modalities was taught, primarily focusing on Neuromuscular Technique, Trigger Point Therapy, Circulatory Technique and in depth client/patient assessment.
It was never a question I wanted to do something in a health related field, I come from a family of nurses and doctors, but a more holistic approach interested me, Massage Therapy was a good fit. I love the relationship that is built working with my clients’ long term; it is very rewarding to see the positive physical and emotional changes in these wonderful people through my Massage treatments.
I joined the Marcotte Family Chiropractic team in 2005; this was my first personal experience with chiropractic. I always considered myself healthy and had no specific pain or health related concerns. I started getting regular adjustments to improve wellness and I knew it would be a great addition to my preventative health care plan. I had no idea the difference it would make in my life. After my first few treatments from Dr. Mike I felt more energized, clear minded, I had improved range of motion in my neck, my anxiety level diminished greatly and I was sick less frequently so I knew my immune system was functioning better.
In September 2007 I married my amazing husband Jeremy, we live in Waterford in the home we built ourselves with our Black Lab Roscoe. We spend as much time together as we can outside enjoying the beautiful area we live in. I really enjoy playing in my garden, I don’t have a green thumb but I’m working on it! We are surrounded by mountains so I hike in the summer and snowboard in the winter. I love most anything that keeps me in shape; physical fitness is a very important part of my life. In the near future I will start my schooling to become a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritional specialist, I am excited about this new knowledge and feel I will be able to assist my clients better in reaching their wellness goals.
Christine Doyle - L.M.T.
I grew up in the Gray-New Gloucester area and went to Gray High school. I was involved In Track and Field, and dedicated to Basketball for the four years. I started under care at Marcotte Family Chiropractic when I was a senior; my love for sports was also a cause for quite a bit of low back pain. When I started getting regular adjustments and muscle work, I noticed a dramatic reduction in the pain that I was experiencing and was able to participate in my sports at a higher level. It was a great balance for me and still is. I continue to do year round sports and chiropractic is part of the reason I can stay healthy and active.
When I first decided I wanted to become a massage therapist I knew that I wanted to work in a medical atmosphere. I really wanted to be able to help people feel better. I attended the Therapeutic program at Spa Tech Institute. The program teaches many different techniques ranging from, Swedish, Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue, pregnancy and labor massage, reflexology and how teach and stretch your clients. I find myself using a combination of all these techniques. My greatest passion is working with pregnant woman. The process that a woman’s body goes through during pregnancy, and during, thru and after labor is amazing. Their body is constantly changing. I love being a part in helping someone go through this process. In June of 2008 I will be receiving my Doula certificate, which will provide me with special training to help guide woman thru their pregnancy and birth.
Out side of work I try to keep myself in good health by staying active year round. I volunteer with the Maine Handicapped ski program at sugar loaf, it’s really a great way to give back. You get to meet awesome people who are trying to make the best of what they have to work with. I also love camping, hiking, running, kayaking, and traveling as much as I can with my friends and family.
Christine Boudreau - L.M.T (Chris)
A 1999 graduate of the New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts, Chris has maintained a commitment to massage and alternative health. As part of her Bachelor's in Sociology at Binghamton University, Chris built upon her knowledge of global healthcare systems and philosophies, as well as absorbed some basics on acute injuries and stages of rehabilitation. In her practice, she gravitates toward deep tissue and neuromuscular methods for their ability to stretch, balance and retrain various tissues in the body, a process that can effectively reduce trauma response and patterns of chronic pain. She enjoys collaborating with Dr. Marcotte, as the goals of chiropractic and massage are highly complimentary and because he shares a similar philosophy of care. Chris is focused on promoting the body's inherent healing properties and she thrives along with clients in their awareness of themselves and their many opportunities for wellness, both in and out of the office!
Chris takes pleasure in a wide variety of outdoor activities including snowboarding, kayaking, running (ok, jogging), swimming and hiking. She also has experience with the benefits of resistance training and would like everyone to know that "yoga changed my life." She strives for balance in every way, committing a large amount of time also to family, friends and her continued education. Current pastime reads include "Body of Work" by Montross "The Age of Reform" by Hofstadter.
